Photographing your artwork

Course Description:
Accurate photographs of artwork can help artists sell and market their work, but it can be challenging to get good results and understand the jargon. Learn practical methods that use very little equipment, and more complex options when accuracy and resolution are needed. We will cover goals and guidelines for capturing photographs for online portfolios and prints. Each participant can bring one piece (smaller than 24 inches in all dimensions) to photograph during the workshop.
Please bring the following supplies with you:
Art Supplies: Bring one piece of your artwork (smaller than 24 inches in all dimensions) so we can practice photographing it. If you have a camera you want to use for photographing your artwork, feel free to bring it.
Bio:
Jennifer McGlinchey Sexton is a paper and photograph conservator, and the Director at zoneFIVE. Trained as a fine-art photographer, Jennifer holds an M.A. in Art Conservation from Buffalo State College, a certificate in Arts Management from SUNY Purchase, and a BFA in Photography from Massachusetts College of Art. Jennifer has honed her skills as a conservator and conservation photographer in positions at museums, regional centers, and private practices throughout the United States
